 Meet the Bovard Bariatric Center Team 

Scott A. Bovard, M.D.

Dr. Bovard is a general and bariatric surgeon trained in weight loss surgery at the largest bariatric practice in the state of Maryland under Dr. Singh and Dr. Averbach at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore MD, a Johns Hopkins University affiliated hospital. 

He has been in private practice since 2005 and has performed over 200 laparoscopic gastric bypasses and over 200 LAP-BAND® system procedures, during training and private practice.  Dr. Bovard is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, a candidate member of the American College of Surgeons, Affiliate member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Member of the North Carolina Medical Society, and is recognized as a national premiere surgeon for the Lap Band system by Allergan.

Lynn M. Bovard R.N., BSN, Practice Administrator

Lynn graduated from West Virginia University in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing.  She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, Maryland until December of 2004.  Throughout those years practicing nursing she worked on several medical/surgical (med/surg) floors caring for a variety of patients.  Her experience includes post partum, neonatal, pediatric med/surg, adult med/surg, telemetry, med/surg intermediate care, and most recently,  adult intensive care including medical, surgical and cardiac patients.  Lynn has had the opportunity of caring for many patients following Bariatric Surgery. 

Cassie Morris Office Manager/Insurance Specialist

Cassie Morris brings over 10 years of experience to Bovard Bariatric Center.  Cassie provides internal administrative support and records management and attends to the company's day to day Records management services for patients.  Cassie is proficient is Windows, Power point, and Quick books. 

Prior to joining Bovard Bariatric Center in February 2008, Cassie worked with Sweet Dreams Sleep Lab from 2003 to 2008 where she was the Office Manager, Sleep Technician and EEG Technician.  Overseeing all human resources and employee benefits as well as training New Employees.  Cassie has also preformed and monitored sleep studies as well as performing EEG's on Adults and Pediatrics in the NICU and the PICU.

Cassie has served as an insurance specialist for over five years.  She has verified insurance benefits for patients, filed insurance claims and posted EOBS.  Cassie has also helped with insurance losses.

Cassie attended Vance Granville Community College, Sleep Health Management Resources and Larry Head Institute.
