Insurance Assistance

When you call Bovard Bariatric Center for an appointment or questions about weight loss surgery, we will get your insurance information and will contact your insurance company on your behalf.  We will insure that you have a benefit for weight loss surgery and calculate what your out of pocket expenses will be.  We will also pre-authorize your surgery prior to your pre op visit; so that you know that everything is good to go.

Financing Options

If you do not have an insurance benefit, all is not lost.  Bovard Bariatric Center has information on different financing options available with very favorable terms, many different payment options and up to 84 months for repayment.   

Self Pay Pricing

The $12,900 price includes a private 60 minute pre-operative consultation with Dr. Bovard, hospital fees (including an overnight hospital stay if needed), Dr. Bovard's fee, the anesthesia fee and 90 days of follow-up care, including band adjustments.  Post operative pain medication is not included in this price, nor is any pre-operative testing.  

If your insurance will not cover the cost of the office visit, the self-pay price is $300, which can be applied to the cost of the surgery if you proceed. So, the costs are as follows:

1. $300 for the pre-operative visit
2. $12,600 for the surgery ($12,900 minus the $300 from the initial visit).  This is collected at your pre-op appt. Includes hospital fees, surgeon fees and anesthesia.
3. No Charge for visits or band fills for 90 days following surgery.

The Lap Band surgery is usually done as an out-patient with the patient leaving the hospital within a few hours of surgery.  For our out of the area patients we can provide overnight accommodations in a private hospital room for the patient and supporter or, if you prefer, at a local hotel located directly adjacent to Dr. Bovard's office.
