Getting Started (step by step instructions)

1. Determine if you qualify for surgery. You will find general qualification criteria here. Our office staff is available to answer any questions you may have.
2. Create an account on our Patient Portal. Complete the secure self registration forms and we will contact you to schedule your first appointment.
3. Check your insurance information to determine if weight loss surgery is covered. You may want to call your insurance provider to find out their specific requirements for pre-authorization for bariatric surgery. Each insurance carrier has a different series of steps to complete prior to surgery. Bovard Bariatric Center does not accept Medicare/Medicaid for bariatric surgery.
4. Call us if you want more information or schedule to attend a free seminar to be presented by Dr. Bovard.
5. After your initial appointment with Dr. Bovard you can expect to undergo a series of tests which will include blood work, X-rays, a dietary consult, and a psychological evaluation. Further testing may be necessary as determined by Dr. Bovard.
6. Lifestyle changes will begin with your initial consultation. Dr. Bovard will discuss our comprehensive program with you and start you on track to a healthier lifestyle from day one!
